1.Project Background

TWEDO is implementing the Access to Justice, awarded by Search for Common Ground “SFCG”/ EUROPEAN

UNION EEU057 under prime agreement No (ACA/2020/418-494). The goal of the Project titled – Increasing

Women’s and Children’s Access to Justice (IWCAJ) Project is to Improve Access to Justice Changing attitudes

and perceptions of communities towards women and children’s rights, through public awareness ( Local Media,

Performance of Theater shows, and awareness raising to women men boys and girls ) and capacitating /creation

of community structures to work with the individual in resolving human rights violation cases locally considering

the Islamic rules and Jirgas for reduction of GBV against women and children, facilitate victims access justice

by referring to provide legal aid assistance.

Theory of Change:

Supporting the community members (particularly women and children) to be aware of their legal

rights and practice

Enhanced capacity of the community-based structures to fight against the unnecessity of social

stigma attached to the use of a formal justice system (particularly by women and children)

Scope of work:

TWEDO in coordination and support of the SFCG will organize the A2J Project To Improve Access to

Justice Change attitudes and perceptions of communities towards the promotion and protection of women’s

rights, and through enhancement of community knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral changes a means to

support GBV reduction – at the community level in Lghman province aimed to facilitate communication

among relevant stakeholders and establish and capacitated community-based Support group to support

community please in access to justice

Objective -1- Toimprove community understanding and respect for women’s and child rights

through awareness raising according to the Islamic Rules

Activity 1.1: Conducting community awareness-raising session on Women and child rights in the target

community according to the Islamic rules and Universal Islamic Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the

Islamic Council of Europe on 19 September 1981/21 Dhul Qaidah 1401, this will be done through the religious

scholars and our network in the target community in close coordination with the project team in SFGC.

Activity 1.2: Development and Broadcasting of Radio Messages on women’s rights especially on women’s Social

and economic rights and child rights according to Quranic verses and Hadith. To shift attuited towards the

promotion and protection of women, the project will develop 7 radio messages and leaflets on women’s Rights

that will be disseminated during project implementation with project beneficiaries, stakeholders, and community

people for putting a legacy in the eyes to stand for women’s rights protection.

Activity 1.3: Performance of the 3 theater shows in the target community on women and child rights violations

and their impact on family life, how Islam previses that conduct, that will directly contribute to community

attitudes shits, because direct observation of such situation will get into participant’s attention and when they are

alone, they can remember and thin how they behave with their women family member and children,

Objective 2: To strengthen CBOs to carry out their “watchdog function “identifying issues of

Women and child rights violations and facilitating their access to justice

Activity 1. 2: Mapping of the current CDC, religious leaders and scholars, Human rights defenders, and youth

groups, to reform the Community Based Support Committee (CBSC) and support them in developing a TOR for

their performance accordingly. the project team will technically support them on how to facilitate the project

activities at the community level once the project completed towards sustainability of the action

Activity 2.2: An orientation session on project opening day will be conducted for all stakeholders and community

members including the CBOs ( Men and Women ) and provide them with specific training on Women and Child

rights, conflict resolution, and case management to equip them with rights skills and knowledge to continue the

project goals through the provision of proper and practical support and resolve community-based GBV cases

and Conflicts according to the Islamic rules to facilitate a women and children access to justice and to reduce

violence and miss conduct that women and children are struggling toward the creation of an enabling and

peaceful and justice culture among families and community in future

3-Project Activitiesanddeliverables (inception Phase)

• Project team members board, in Dec-2022, based on TWEDO HR requirements policy, we had an active

team member in programs finance, and field level staff in Laghman province, so shifted in accordance

to the available position under this project persons for implementation of the project. Finance Officer,

Project Manager, trainers.• Project implementation, loge frame, and M& E, plan developed, in this section, by the powerful co-

workers of TWEDO, during the 11 days of orientation sessions/workshops conducted by the SFCG team

in different areas (program – HR – Safeguarding- Financial Management – Human rights women’s

Rights – Communication, Monitoring, and evaluation – during Dec- Jan-2022.

• These plans were communicated with the SFCG project team reviewed and finalized and applied

accordingly. Strong but prolonged processes were followed for readjustment and registration of the

project in the Okine system of the Ministry of Economy and finally, in Aug 2023 the project officially

registered with ( MoE).

• Development of training manuals on women and child rights in close coordination with SCFG technical

team

• Mapping of individual Human rights and women’s rights activists for the establishment of a community-

based Support group (CBSG)
